Action when opponents interfere in a Transfer sequence over 1NT.

This is one way of doing it; I'm sure there are many more!

Partner opens 1NT and you bid 2 , / , as a Transfer to Hearts/Spades
There are two possible interference sequences
First Your Partner completes the Transfer and the next hand bids.

1NT-Pass- 2 ,-Pass- 2 , The next hand now bids -2 ♠ /3 ♣/3 , or

1NT-Pass- 2 ,-Pass- 2 ♠ The next hand now bids 3 ♣/3, 3 ,

Responder should now bid as follows:

Pass - I was very weak

Double - Penalties and or Invitational, probably good 10-11 points.

2NT - If available shows 11pts and good stops. Vulnerability may suggest this is better than Doubling.

A bid of a new suit is Forcing to Game.

A bid of the Transfer suit (i.e. Hearts or Spades) is to play, either at 3 or 4 level, and not to be raised under any circumstances. If the opposition bid on Responder must decide what action to take.

3 of opposition suit shows game values but no stop, a rare bid, but occasionally hands such as ♠ 986, , AK432,,Ak, ♣ Jxx come up.

3NT shows game points with stops in their suit

The second sequence is when you Transfer and the next hand bids before your Partner has a chance to bid.

1NT-Pass- 2 /2 The next hand now bids -2 ♠ /♠/3 >

Opener only completes the Transfer if maximum with 4 card support or very good 3 card, say, AQJ
Whatever he/she does Responder's bids are as above where available.

If you are playing 2 ♠ and/or 2NT as Transfers, usually to the minors, then if the opposition interfere Responder bids or passes as hand dictates.

A bid of a new suit would be forcing to at least 4 ♣ or 4
