Welcome to The World of Contract Bridge    

For anyone who does not play Bridge, the file How to Play will provide a basic introduction to the game and then if you wish to continue and join the thousands who enjoy it as a hobby it is recommended that you join a beginners course at a recognised Bridge Centre or Club where qualified Bridge teachers will take you forward. To find out about these in your area follow the link to the EBU (See Useful Links -English Bridge Union) and look for Counties and Clubs on the left side.

But for those who do play there are some fairly simple conventions and playing guides for Beginners and more complex ideas for players who want to go further.

These articles on bidding and play are not intended to be definitive teaching, the main idea being to provide ideas for beginners and improvers to discuss and therefore many of the sections are not comprehensive.
